Week 2 and a GREAT Giveaway

Hey everyone. Happy Monday. I am not sure about you but this weather is killing me. The kids are off of school today and tomorrow due to the deep freeze we are having.. AGAIN. I am finding it hard at times to stay motivated to run when I need to do it on a treadmill or indoor track. However, I have a AMAZING giveaway for all of you at the end of the blog today that should warm you up. Most of you know I am training for the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon on May 18, 2014. This will be my fourth marathon and I hoping for a sub-4 hour finish.  The plan that I am following has me training for 18 weeks. I run 4 days a week, which includes: speed work, easy runs and long runs on the weekend. Last week, I ran every run indoors. It was difficult, but I forced myself to remember why I am doing this. What my goal is and what I need to do to attain it.

Here is what I did in week 2:

  • MONDAY- Gym. Chest, triceps and core.
  • TUESDAY- 5 miles easy on treadmill (46:10 minutes).
  • WEDNESDAY- 4 miles speed work (My coach timed me).
  • THURSDAY- Gym. Back, biceps and core.
  • FRIDAY- 5 easy miles (45:01) and Pilates class.
  • SUNDAY- 11 miles (1:39).

This week will continue to be very cold and most of my runs will be inside. I just need to keep my eye on the prize. Here is hoping for warmer weather…soon. Now, to the fun part. One of the amazing perks of being a blogger for the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon is that I get to give away a FREE entry to one of you! Are you looking to run a spring marathon? Maybe a half or even a 5K? The 37th annual Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon features one of the flattest and fastest courses in the country, offering full marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K events.

Gosh running with you sounds great! But who knows what my recovery will be after my first marathon! Sigh, till next time!

And what a speedy 11 miles! Hoping to PR at my Saturday half this weekend, but it’s going to be a cold week with snow on Friday. The forecast says 30-35 on Sat,
so I am REALLY hoping it’s going to be a good race!

oh oh oh oh oh…pick me! (please?) You and I both know we need to do a race together, why not this one? 😉

(I’m not on Twitter…is that ok?) (yes, I will be the last one to that party when/if I ever join) I’ll get this shared, though, and head over to the Cleveland Marathon page 😉

I’d love to win entry into this race, I live pretty close by and it would be nice to have family and friends there to cheer me on. I would definitely choose the marathon but this weather has been horrible for training. I did a 7 mile run this morning, it was -8 degrees with 15 mph winds. Thanks for the chance and good luck with your training, if you believe in a sub-four hour than its something you will achieve!

I would love to win an entry for the Cleveland half marathon because it’s on my birthday weekend and what better way to celebrate than running my very first half marathon!!!

I would love to win and run the CLE half-marathon! This will be my first full year of running, and would love to participate in this race since I am fairly local. I’ve heard about it for years- and this is FINALLY the year I am not going to sit on the running sidelines anymore. :)
